In the fall of 2003, the Academic Planning Facilitation Committee (APFC) was formed to
facilitate development of an overall academic plan for UPEI. The
objective established for the Committee was the development of a
framework and a process for creation of an Academic Plan which built on
the historic tradition of UPEI as a university centred on a liberal
arts and sciences core. Historical documents that led to the development of a report entitled UPEI Academic Planning 2005: Guiding Principles are available on this website.
In December 2005, the University Senate approved the report of the committee. This document set the stage for the next phase in the ongoing process. At subsequent meetings, the University Senate approved a new committee structure and new Terms of Reference to enhance the ongoing work of the committee.
This
website has been developed to provide you with information and to keep
you informed of the status and ongoing work of the committee.
